This health technology startup focused on medication adherence needed a boost at a critical point in their growth. Azul Seven stepped in to provide a best-in-class brand and user experience (UX), as well as human-centered design training.
MyMeds is a startup developing a multi-channel medication adherence platform. The platform functioned as an easy-to-use reminder system for patients. But perhaps more importantly, it notified caregivers if a patient was at risk of missing a required dose. The notification improved patient outcomes and helped alleviate financial risks for health insurers that cover the costs of very expensive, high-stakes medication protocols.
“I’m excited for what Azul Seven brought to MyMeds at a critical point in our growth. More than just meeting an important deadline, they helped us develop foundational elements of our identity and operational culture that continue to serve us well.”

Founder and Chief Medical Officer
MyMeds had solid back-end technology and an institutional-level client awaiting delivery. What they lacked were best-in-class brand and user experiences to put a strong foot forward and encourage adoption. We drew on deep experience in two areas at Azul Seven—branding and healthcare technology design—to quickly prepare MyMeds for their next phase of growth. In just six weeks, we completed an initial phase of work that included a new brand identity and the design of a front-end mobile app environment.
Following the first client installation, Azul Seven continued working with MyMeds to develop their own internal approach to human-centered design. We co-created a process for keeping MyMeds customers (large employers, providers and pharmacy benefit management firms) and end users (patients and their families) at the center of future product iterations. MyMeds became a design-led firm via three human-centered principles: 1) Create new requirements based on user needs, 2) Test new ideas with actual users, 3) Employ radical collaboration across technical, sales, marketing, product and medical adherence teams to remain focused on meeting customer and end-user needs.
Two years later, MyMeds continues to grow, and recently began working with Prime Therapeutics, a pharmacy benefits manager owned by a group of Blue Cross/Blue Shield plans. MyMeds continues to profess love for the brand identity created by Azul Seven, and they rely heavily on human-centered design to shape new product and service strategy.
